We used the PureLink RNA Mini Kit to isolate total RNA from immunomagnetically purified adult mouse astrocytes for quantitative real-time PCR analysis of genes involved in mitochondrial glutamate transport and astrocyte metabolism. The kit consistently yielded RNA suitable for sensitive downstream gene expression analysis.

The protocol was straightforward and required minimal optimization.
