Product Name:

Anti-ACSA-2 MicroBeads

Catalog Number:

We used Anti-ACSA-2 MicroBeads to immunomagnetically isolate astrocytes from adult mouse prefrontal cortex for downstream protein analyses. The isolated astrocyte fraction showed strong enrichment for the astrocytic marker S100ß with minimal neuronal (NeuN) and microglial (Iba1) contamination, demonstrating excellent isolation specificity. The purified cells were fully compatible with Western blot analysis of mitochondrial proteins and astrocyte metabolism.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Immunomagnetic isolation of astrocytes

Starting Material

Adult mouse prefrontal cortex

Tips

Fresh tissue processing and careful adherence to the manufacturer's protocol produced highly reproducible astrocyte enrichment with excellent purity.

Results Summary

The magnetic isolation consistently generated highly enriched astrocyte populations suitable for downstream Western blot analysis. Validation demonstrated strong enrichment of the astrocyte marker S100β with minimal neuronal and microglial contamination, confirming excellent isolation specificity.
