Company:

Abcam

Product Name:

Goat anti-Mouse Secondary Antibody

Catalog Number:

ab97023

Clone Number:

My research focuses on understanding how cell wall remodeling affects cell growth and response to stress. I used this secondary antibody for immunoblot experiments to detect target proteins after transferring samples to membranes. It consistently produced clear and easy-to-read bands.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Western Blot

Sample

Enterococcus faecium

Primary Incubation

Primary antibody diluted according to the manufacturer’s recommendation (1:2,000). Incubate overnight at 4°C

Blocking Agent

5% non-fat dry milk powder in TBST

Secondary Incubation

Goat Anti-Mouse IgG H&L (HRP), 1:10,000 dilution in blocking buffer, 1 hour at room temperature.

Tertiary Incubation

NA

Detection

Enhanced Chemiluminescence (ECL) using an HRP substrate; image with a chemiluminescence imaging system.

Results Summary

I used this secondary antibody to detect a HaloTag-fused protein by western blot. It produced strong, clean bands with very low background, allowing me to reliably monitor the stability of the protein fusion under different experimental conditions. Confirming stable expression by western blot gave me confidence for downstream fluorescence microscopy studies, where the HaloTag fusion was used to examine the cellular localization of the protein. The HRP-conjugated secondary antibody consistently provided high sensitivity and reproducible results throughout the study.
