I used the innuPREP RNA Mini Kit 2.0 to isolate total RNA from cultured human cells as input for RT-qPCR-based gene expression analysis, to study how a virus modulates the host antiviral response.

I recommend including the optional 80% ethanol wash step. It noticeably helps remove residual salts and improves purity.

Results Summary

As an example, across 24 RNA preparations from cultured human fibroblasts, the kit delivered adequate and reproducible yields with good A260/A280 ratios. A260/A230 ratios were consistently low, meaning residual salt or organic carryover. Yield and A260/A280 were reliable; A260/A230 was the limiting part.
