I utilized the antibody (ab85615) from Abcam to measure 5-HT1A receptor expression in bulk mouse hippocampal tissue via Western blot. I used hippocampal tissue lysate at 40 µg from wild-type mice.

Results Summary

This antibody helped me measure 5HT1A receptor brain expression in different groups of mice based on their social status and response to antidepressant treatments. The 5HT1A receptor can modulate social behavior, is involved in depression, and can contribute to the delayed onset of antidepressant action. I utilized the standard Bio-Rad Western blot protocol with a 12% SDS-PAGE gel and a nitrocellulose membrane.
