We are interested in identifying orphan metabolites regulating mammalian physiology. We recently identified an exercise-inducible circulating lipid that has potential benefits in improving glucose metabolism. We therefore use this ELISA kit to determine if an injection of this metabolite in mice can affect GLP-1 abundance in blood plasma.

This ELISA kit is not the best kit for measuring mouse blood plasma GLP-1 because the plasma concentration is near the detection limit. 4 of out 10 fresh mouse plasma samples tested are below detection limit.

This is a good ELISA kit for quantifying GLP-1 in cell culture but not very sensitive in detecting mouse plasma GLP-1.
