Company:

Invitrogen

Product Name:

Qubit dsDNA HS Assay Kit

Catalog Number:

Q33230

Our lab is interested in using cutting-edge technologies to better understand the mechanisms responsible for immune self-tolerance and self-antigen production/presentation during both central and peripheral tolerance.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

ATAC-seq library QC

Starting Material

Mouse epithelial cell genomic DNA

Tips

Run samples in triplicate to get an idea of the accuracy of readouts.

Results Summary

Use of this kit along with a Qubit analyzer is ok for a quick and dirty quantification of dsDNA for downstream applications that don't require extremely high accuracy and for samples that don't have especially low DNA content. Would not be suitable for library quantification prior to sequencing on its own.

Summary

The Good

Quick to use, and cheap.

The Bad

Not accurate enough for high sensitivity applications such as next-gen sequencing.

The Bottom Line

A more accurate DNA quantification kit than running samples on a Nano drop, but less accurate than running on a bioanalyzer/tapestation.
