We study blood metabolites in mammals that regulate organismal physiology. We recently identified a metabolite that was upregulated after feeding in mice and hypothesized this metabolite stimulates GDF15, a hormone that suppresses appetite. We used this kit to quantify blood GDF15 after injecting this metabolite.
