To examine the protein level dynamics of the cell wall hydrolase, MepK during the cell cycle of E. coli, I conducted western blotting of MepK-3X FLag using anti-Flag antibody purchased from Sigma.

Cells collected from various growth phases were subjected to Western blot analysis using α-Flag antibody. I observed a sudden drop of MepK levels in the late stationary phase (OD-3 and 4) as shown in the figure.
