Company:

Promega

Product Name:

CellTiter-Glo® Luminescent Cell Viability Assay

Catalog Number:

G7571

The goal of this project was to quantify intracellular ATP as a measure of cell viability and immunogenic cell death after treatment with irradiation or other cell treatments.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Detecting amount of intracellular ATP/viability of cells.

Starting Material

U87 GBM cells treated and cultured overnight.

Tips

Be very careful to use exact amounts, and read the plate closer to a 10 minute mark.

Results Summary

This product helped me identify cell viability after treatment with irradiation and other methods, which showed that irradiation did not affect viability of cells but other treatments (such as lysing at heating) did reduce viability in dose-dependent manner.

Summary

The Good

Easy and quick test for viability/intracellular ATP.

The Bad

Sometimes inconsistent/finicky between replicates.

The Bottom Line

A great, easy test that takes less than 30 minutes to run, but can be finicky to get the replicates close enough to obtain useable data.
