We ran this experiment using 4 different dilutions of rat plasma. Neat, 1:10, 1:25, 1:50. This plasma was used immediately after collection. The results were as expected based off our hypothesis. This kit was easy to use, however I recommend fully reading the manual before attempting to start the procedure to fully understand what needs to be done at each step. We used their software to calculate our results. The software was easy to use.

Results Summary

We were able to determine the 8-isoprostane levels of two different strains of rats. We noticed that one strain of rat had higher elevation compared to the other. We were expecting them to be notably different and they were. We were happy with this result and plan to use this kit again with a larger sample pool.

Summary

The Good

Worked as expected.

The Bad

No verbiage on whether to use the items at room temp or keep on ice.

The Bottom Line

I used the items at room temp like most of the Elisa kits I have used in the past. This deemed a "as expected" result that we were looking for. We have had issues working with Elisa's in the past so we were happy with this result.
