Company:

ATCC

Product Name:

Universal Mycoplasma Detection Kit

Catalog Number:

30-1012K

In our lab we bought the ATCC kit to run a comparison with another cheaper PCR-based kit we are currently using. The kit is simple and quick, and the positivity for mycoplasma is easily detected with an electrophoretic run on a 3% agarose gel (size of the positive band goes from 434 to 468 bp). The ATCC kit resulted to be more reliable in terms of true positives detected compared to the other kit.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Mycoplasma detection

Starting Material

Cells culture

Tips

lysis necessary before running the PCR, loading buffer necessary before running the electrophoretic gel.
