I have used this antibody to detect astrocyte among a number of neurons within the mouse brain. It has worked very well in mouse sample.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Mouse brain

Primary Incubation

Incubation was done with Ab diluted to 1:400 for 16h at 4ºC

Blocking Agent

BSA 4% in PBS

Secondary Incubation

Incubation was done with 2nd Ab diluted to 1:1,000 for 3h at room temperature

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

Fluorescence (AF 488)

Results Summary

In all cases reactivity is quite good at 1:400 dilution, especially if you need to do morphological analysis. However, if one wants to count astrocytes I am pretty sure this antibody fits well at 1:1,000 dilution. Importantly, this antibody does not have any reactivity in animal cortex due to this protein has a very low expression in physiological situation.

The Good

Great antibody.

The Bad

I have experienced no issues with this product.

The Bottom Line
