B27 is a supplement that is added to low serum or serum-free media to promote growth and proliferation of cells without differentiation. It well known for neuronal growth, but it is not specific for it. I currently use it for spheroids sub-culturing from different cancer cell lines and in some patient-derived xenograft cancer cells.

It works well to support cell growth and proliferation, especially cells without FBS. Is helpful to support cells growing in 3d conditions we found that the B27 supplement played an important role in promoting tumorsphere formation and patient-derived spheroids growth.
