Used to study the release of NETs from neutrophils in response to S. aureus stimulation in vitro. Great signal, enabling the identification of extracellular DNA / NETs released from neutrophils.

In the figure below, purified mouse neutrophils were adhered to plates and then stimulated with buffer alone, or buffer containing S. aureus. After 90 minutes, sytox green was added to cells and then imaged after 15 minutes of dye addition on live cells. The green puffs (white arrow) are indicative of cells undergoing NETosis.
