The aim of the experiment to isolate total RNA from the mammalian cells to detect the shorter spliced form of XBP1 (XBP1s) after different drug treatment for 24h as a marker of ER stress.

The RNA yield was great which was further used to do a semi-quantitative-PCR to detect the XBP1s levels after the drug treatment in the osteosarcoma cell line. Some drugs shows increased levels of XBP1s which is indicative of enhanced ER stress.
The kit is very easy to use and gives good yield of RNA.
The kit is not bad at all.
Expensive but worth buying because of its ease to use.
