We use the labjack u6 as part of our prototyping process. The labjack receives analog voltage input which it then can collect and communicate back to a computer. It works well with Windows and Mac as well as Raspberry Pi. It is one of the better solutions for groups looking for low cost data acquisition systems. It is important to note that this is a device for people that are looking to build their own systems using the lab jack as a component.Labjack's website and forum are an excellent resource for getting up to speed on how to code your custom application to work with the labjack (we built a python program for our application). Labjack staff also regularly comment in the forum to help users trouble shoot their code problems and get them up and running.

Summary

The Good

A low cost and well supported data acquisition card compatible across os platforms

The Bad

The isn't a turnkey system like the power lab- you will need to build your own program

The Bottom Line

This is a great tool for the "builders" needing a data acquisition solution for their builds. Its low cost make it reasonable for pilots and prototypes. Its community and support make it easy to get up to speed for folks willing to take the plunge into building their system.
