The Vevo2100 Ultrasound imager and vevolab software are used as part of my core facilities in vivo imaging resources. The system provides high frequency, high resolution scans. Most typically we use the instrument for echocardiography and collect data on ventricular structure and function using the system's B-Mode and M-Mode imaging modalities. The system also has Color Doppler and Pulse Wave Doppler capabilities that allow for assessment of blood flow.

The Bottom Line

this is a high quality ultrasound imaging system. it is highly regarded for pre-clinical cardiovascular imaging studies. Several software modules and expansions allow streamlined workflows for analyzing cardiac, vascular, etc. datasets.The caveat is you will need a skilled operator to acquire the images (or need training and practice). most people can get adequate images with about 1-2 weeks of practice. The system has a lot of settings that can be adjusted and the button layout is a bit complicated which will take some familiarization time to get comfortable with.The new version of the system is the Vevo 3100, I intend to upgrade once I can secure the budget - I have been generally happy with the quality of the instrument and the service/support from fujifilm/visualsonics.
