In immunology, CD11b is very useful in defining of innate immune cells because many of them express high levels of CD11b including macrophages, granulocytes and monocytes. For example, some macrophages in many tissues can be defined as CD11b+ F4/80+, neutrophils as Ly6G+ CD11b+, inflammatory monocytes as Ly6C+ CD11b+ Ly6G-. CD11b antibody (M1/70) from Biolegend is an excellent antibody and PerCP/Cy5.5 is compatible with many other fluorophores in flow cytometry including FITC, green laser-excited, red laser-excited and blue laser-excited fluorophores. One more good thing is that Biolegend provides a small size of antibodies.
