For autophagy induction, GFP-LC3 has been widely used, but it takes a few days to generate stable cell lines, and the uneven transfection efficiency causes different FL intensity from cell to cell. This kit, specifically Cyto-ID green, gives green puncta when autophagy is induced.

The kit contains a positive controls (Rapamycin and chloroquine) which is quite handy
This kit substitutes GFP-LC3, and you can simply add the reagents to any cell lines of your interest. I found this very convenient. I performed live-cell imaging analysis using a green laser channel and it worked okay.

This is good to have if you want to quickly check whether certain conditions induce autophagy. It works for flow-cytometry analysis as well.
