EUROIMMUN

Product Name:

Human Phospho-Tau / pTau(181) ELISA Kit

Catalog Number:

EQ 6591-9601-L

We have conducted rigorous testing of the EUROIMMUN ELISAs in order to establish a high throughput and robust means of establishing ATN (Amyloid-Tau-Neurodegeneration) values for the hundreds of samples in the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center biobank. The EUROIMMUM pTau181 assay performs extraordinarily well in CSF. We used the EuroImmun analyzer to automate the assay, and achieved duplicate CVs with an average value of 2.65%.

Tips

We have used both the Analyzer I and hand preparation for this kit and get excellent results with both

Results Summary

In our hands this assay has a mean sample duplicate CV of 2.65%. This is so low that we have switched to confidently running samples in singlicate. The mean CV of plate to plate controls is 3.8 %. Furthermore, this assay correlates extraordinarily well with values obtained from the clinically used Athena Admark data - the correlation is 0.95. We are strongly impressed with the technical reproducibility of this assay.

Summary

The Good

High technical reproducibility, clear instructions, ability to automate using Analyzer I instrument

The Bad

Very high pTau values are above the ULOQ for this assay - we don't find this to be a significant problem as these samples are clearly pathological

The Bottom Line

Excellent assay, well priced, highly reproducible.
