Tempus™ Spin RNA Isolation Kit

This kit has been used to isolate RNA from peripheral blood stabilised using the Tempus™ blood RNA tubes. The kit provides all of the necessary reagents (even PBS), spin columns and collection tubes although extra 1.5mL microcentrifuge tubes may be needed, especially if one wishes to save multiple aliquots from a single sample. The protocol is simple to follow and the results have been consistent and reliable.

The manufacturers protocol is thorough and clear - follow it precisely.
As long as the Tempus™ Blood RNA tube has been handled correctly the RNA yielded using this kit should be high quality. It is possible to obtain a high quantity of RNA - using 3mL peripheral blood in the Tempus™ Blood RNA tube typically results in 70-200ng/uL RNA yield, with approximately 90uL retrieved.
