Transfection of plasmids into the mammalian cell is a basic research component in almost all the labs. There are many reagents in the market. However, jetOPTIMUS from Polyplus Transfection stands out in terms of its efficiency and robustness, Here I am describing the approach I use in the laboratory to transfect the cells using jetOPTIMUS.
DNA transfection
DNA and any of the human cell lines (e.g. HELA cells)
Vortex and spin down the jetOPTIMUS reagent before use
mCherry or EGFP tagged protein constructs were transfected to HELA cells. Transfection efficiency was assessed by fluorescent microscopy. The transgene was efficiently expressed. Transfection efficiency was satisfactory (more than 70% always).
