I study human NK cells from blood or tissues (lymph node, certain types of solid tumors). CD56 is a positive marker for NK cells. I have used several CD56 antibodies, and found that this one is very good.

NK cells can be defined as CD45+Lineage(CD3/CD14/CD19/CD20)-CD56+ lymphocytes. Figure shows a dot plot of the expression of CD56 and CD16 on gated CD45+Lin- cells lymphocytes, from the peripheral blood. Using this gate, we can clearly see two subsets of NK cells: CD56bright (CD16+/-CD56bright) and CD56dim (CD16+CD56dim).
