The Type II Collagen ELISA is designed to quantify the amount of solubilized native type II collagen from various species (such as human, monkey, porcine, bovine, rat, mouse, rabbit, equine, dog, and chick) in cell and/or tissue culture or from tissue specimens. I have used the assay to measure Collagen II in supernatants taken from cell culture. The ELISA is straightforward with sensitive results, and can be completed with an overnight plate coating incubation step, followed by performing the assay and analysing the results the following day.

Results Summary

I generated accurate results assessing collagen expression in my chondrocyte cell supernatants. The assays was sensitive for collagen produced by 100,000 cells cultured for 6 days by using neat supernatant
