Company:

Cell Signaling Technology

Product Name:

Rabbit anti-Cre recombinase

Catalog Number:

15036

Clone Number:

My research focuses on molecular mechanisms of axon growth and guidance during neural development and axon regeneration after injuries to the central nervous system or peripheral nerves. For this experiment, I wanted to check if the transduction rate of the pre-injected Cre recombinase virus was high enough.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Mouse retina cryostat sections

Primary Incubation

1:500, overnight at 4°C

Blocking Agent

PBST (0.3%) containing 10% goat serum

Secondary Incubation

1:500, 1 hr at room temperature

Tertiary Incubation

N/A

Detection

CCD camera connected to a Zeiss inverted fluorescence microscope controlled by AxioVision software

Results Summary

The signal of cre (red channel) clearly localizes with the signal of retina ganglion cells (green channel). The signal is strong and easily identified. With these results, I am sure that most of the target cells are infected by the cre virus.
