The Good
Reusable slides, trypan blue, and price tag are all very affordable. The PDF printout is very informative. Counting is very fast and accurate.
The Bad
Auto focus sometimes takes blurry images. RBCs are counted if not removed.
The Bottom Line
I am the lead lab technician for a startup clinical laboratory specializing in ELISPOT assays. Before the LUNA-II, I was counting PBMCs with a hemocytometer, taking excessive amounts of time and always being concerned with consistency in counting. The LUNA-II takes the inconsistencies and eye strain out of cell counting. Being able to fine tune the instrument for cell size, viability sensitivity, and noise reduction, I was able to adjust it to my needs. I needed fast and accurate cell concentration to plate cells. The LUNA-II was a very affordable and ideal solution.
