While for most experiments we use Milli-Q water or just regular distilled water, some sensitive experiments require much more pure water to generate reproducible results. We have been using this brand of ultra pure water for our mass spec sample preparation, enzymatic assays, and buffers for embryonic stem cell culture.

For sensitive experiments, using this commercial ultra pure water can enhance the reproducibility of results. While most of the time, Milli-Q water is good enough, we have experienced that the buffer made from Milli-Q water makes ESCs less viable, and by changing to this brand of ultra pure water, the cells recovered.
