For FACS sorting or analysis of the CD24 epitope, single cells were stained for 30 min at 4°C with PE Mouse Anti-Human CD24 (BD Pharmingen, 20 µl per test up to 10 ^7 cells in a total volume of 100 µL buffer) . Viable CD24+/CD24- populations were sorted with isotype control-based gating parameters. Mouse IgG2a isotype control antibody (56472) was used in parallel with CD24 to exclude false positive cells.
