The BeadRetriever is used for automating Immuno-Magnetic Separation (IMS). This eliminates a lot of user error and variability. Our food microbiology lab conducts a large amount of IMS, and we automate this with two BeadRetriever units.
Immuno-Magnetic Separation
The unit has several programs that run through binding, washing, and eluting. Disposal strip tubes are placed in the unit and up to 15 samples are processed in approximately 40 minutes. Different magnetic anti-sera are used depending on the pathogen in need of detection. Analysis of the eluate is usually done with selective plating.
Ensure proper training for new users.
