Product Name:

This kit from Sigma is sufficient to measure a half 96-well plate of samples, even though in their description it can measure 1 plate of samples, because you need half of the wells for background controls!

Protocol Overview

Tissue (10 mg) or cells (1 × 106) can be homogenized in 100 μL of ice-cold Acetate Assay Buffer. Centrifuge the samples at 13,000 × g for 10 minutes to remove insoluble material. Serum and other liquid samples can be directly added to wells. Bring samples to a final volume of 50 μL with Acetate Assay Buffer. Set up the Reaction Mixes according to the scheme in Table provided.

Tips

Only works with less than 40 samples at a time!

Results Summary

The assay kit itself works great at detecting acetate in samples, in my case the supernatant of cells.
