Biospectrum Imaging System

As an immunology lab, we perform various molecular biology–based experiments where we routinely do PCR or western blot analysis. This imaging system allows us to easily view DNA gels and also use the instrument for chemiluminescence for immunoblotting analysis. The acquisition of the gels and blots using a computer makes it all digital rather than using film.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Tips

All depends on the reagents used for DNA. Western blotting is highly dependent on the reagents such as antibodies including secondary HRP and ECL substrate.

Summary

The Good

No longer need to use film for western blotting and all digital images. Never have to worry about over exposing. No longer need to scan.

The Bad

None

The Bottom Line

Great multipurpose imaging system for critical molecular biology applications. Western blotting is so much easier with a digital imager.
