Product Name:

Alexa Fluor® 647 anti-mouse CD326 (Ep-CAM) Antibody

Catalog Number:

118212

We study tumorgenesis in the PyMT mouse model of breast cancer. As a first step, we wanted to understand epithelial cell biology under normal mammary gland development. We chose this Ep-CAM antibody due to its reliability.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

PLP fixed mouse (C57BL/6) lactating mammary gland cryosections

Primary Incubation

2.5ug/ml for 3h at room temperature

Blocking Agent

1% BSA, 1% FCS, 0.3% Triton X, 2% mouse serum, 2% rat serum

Detection

Images were acquired using an inverted Zeiss LSM880 confocal microscope with an 40x 1.3NA air objective.

Results Summary

20um cryosections of lactating mammary gland were stained with anti-Ep-CAM Alexa Fluor® 647 (green) and counterstained with DAPI (blue).

Summary

The Good

Reliable & reproducible staining of epithelial cells

The Bad

None

The Bottom Line

Pretty good antibody. Nevertheless, personally I tend to prefer to stain for E-Cadherin rather than Ep-CAM.
