CD8 T cells differentiate following activation by cognate antigen and produce both effector and memory cells for combating infections. Distinct transcription factor networks govern the differentiation of these various subsets The transcription factor Eomes is particularly important for effector/memory CD8+ T cell differentiation in mice. However, its role in human immune responses has not been fully defined. We are interested in the expression of Eomes by human CD8+ T cells from peripheral blood. The PE-eFluor 610 conjugate was selected for its improved compensation spillover characteristics.

Results Summary

PBMCs were obtained from peripheral blood of healthy volunteers. Cells were stained for surface markers to differentiate T cell populations and live/dead cells followed by fixation/permeablization with the eBioscience Foxp3 kit. Intracellular staining for transcription factors was then performed. Amongst CD8+ T cells, a clear Eomes positive population could be detected and the expression of surface markers was then assessed.
