We are studying how cobalamin deficiency alters learning and memory using a KO mouse model. The KO mouse showed learning disabilities and changes in early expression of long-term potentiation (LTP). TO determine whether the changes in LTP are due to alterations in the pre-synaptic or post-synaptic site, we studied the expression of synaptophysin in the hippocampus of the mouse by IHC-P.

Summary

The Good

Easy to use

The Bad

Needs optimization as lower dilution gives a huge background

The Bottom Line

Worked well on mouse brain sections and using HEP-DAB staining method. However, it might give superior images with immunofluorescence.
