We are studying the neurologic deficits that occur due to cobalamin deficiency that affect learning and memory. We have a CD320 gene KO mouse model that are obtuse in learning a spatial memory task. Further, studying long-term potentiation (LTP), we found changes in early expression but not later expression of LTP. We hypothesized that the changes we observe in LTP results are dependent on the levels of GluR1 and GluR2 contiaining AMPA receptors. Hence, we studied GluR2 expression levels on mouse hippocampus by immunohistochemistry.

Results Summary

We observed expression of GluR2 (by fluorescence) in the hippocampus of control and the KO mouse. The levels of flurescence measured (representing GluR2 expression) were similar in control and the KO mouse.
