We use this station to perform our PCR and avoid contamination. We used to run PCRs but after several contamination incidents in our samples, we choose to work under a workstation. Since the acquisition of the PCR workstation, no more contamination issues have been detected.

DNA or RNA sample
We turn on the UV lamp for 15 minutes before starting to work. Next, after cleaning with 70% ethanol, we prepare our PCR master mix in the workstation.
If working with RNA, an extra cleaning step is recommended like with RNAse Zap.
We have saved the issues with contamination since we bought this PCR workstation.
