Our lab uses LCMV (Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus) as a model pathogen to study T-cell mediated immunity in the genital mucosa. Various strains of transgenic mice are inoculated and the hosts viral load is measured at various time points in different lymphatic organs. Thus, it is essential to measure consistent RNA concentrations for prior to qPCR reaction to measure load. After months of using this spectrophotometer, I'd highly recommend it!
Measuring concentrations of nucleic acids
RNA/DNA/cDNA
RNA/DNA can be diluted in small volumes. Start machine and run program.
Ensure the nanodrop is cleaned after each sample!
Results are reliable and and easily copied toward a spreadsheet format. 1 uL is all it takes to obtain results, if you have small volumes, this is excellent!
Can also measure proteins and cell cultures!

Accurate and efficient
An uncleaned stage yields unreliable results
This instrument is extremely quick and one can speedily go through multiple samples.
