Chemiluminescent Nucleic Acid Detection Module Kit

Catalog Number:

89880

We use this Kit for the detection of biotin labeled nucleic acids on Northern/Southern blots. It contains an enhanced luminol substrate for horseradish peroxidase (HRP), blocking and wash buffers for detection on film or by camera.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Chemiluminescent Nucleic Acid Detection

Starting Material

Nucleic Acids

Protocol Overview

Block membrane, with Blocking Buffer followed by conjugate/blocking buffer.Wash membrane with 1X wash solution with gentle shaking.Incubate membrane in Substrate Equilibration Buffer with gentle shaking.Remove Substrate Equilibration Buffer and cover membrane with Substrate Working Solution without shaking.Remove membrane from the Working Solution and wrap the moist membrane in plastic wrap, avoiding bubbles and wrinkles.Place the membrane in a film cassette and expose to X-ray film.

Tips

Exposure to the sun or any other intense light can harm the Working Solution. Avoid prolonged exposure to any intense light

Results Summary

We were able to detect mouse RNA by Northern Blot analysis. Clear bands were detected on X-ray Film.
