We bought a specific mouse IFN beta after using a Universal IFN alpha to better recapitulate microglial response to IFN beta treatment during neuroinflammation (e.g. MS, EAE). Had to titer the concentration a bit, but ended up with great results at 500 U/mL of cell culture. The only downside would be that the total active units of IFN beta in the vial is lower and it requires more frequent purchasing.
In vitro cell stimulation of primary and cell line microglia
Primary prenatal and adult mouse microglia, BV-2 microglia
500 Units per mL were used to treat cells for 1-4 hours
Titer your dose as there are some differences between other IFN I products
