The general aim of my research is to study the antigen-presenting potential of human monocyte-derived dendritic cells (moDCs). The goal of this experiment was to compare the difference in moDC differentiation using fetal bovine serum (FBS) and human AB serum. This product was selected because I was looking for an alternative to PE-Texas Red which bleeds significantly into the PE channel.

FBS was found to be superior than human AB serum in terms of differentiating CD14 monocytes from human PBMCs into CD1a-expressing moDCs.
No significant bleeding into the PE channel. Can be easily compensated.
