Company:

Molecular Probes, Invitrogen

Product Name:

CD11c Antibody, Integrin alpha X FITC conjugate (3.9)

Catalog Number:

A25988

The overall goal of my research is to study transmission of SIV/HIV. I specifically wanted to test what is the prevalence of CD11c positive cells across different tissues. This antibody was chosen as it was previously reported to work well in Rhesus Macaque for the purpose of fluorescent microscopy and it was already available in our laboratory.

Summary

The Good

Easy one our incubation

The Bad

FITC conjugated antibodies are not optimal for imaging tissues due to high background

The Bottom Line

I would recommend this antibody however in future I would use different color secondary to combat the background of the tissue due to autofluorescence.
