Our lab uses this kit routinely to to quantify p24 levels in culture supernatant. This is a highly sensitive, fast and easy assay to run.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Quantification of p24 levels

Starting Material

GXR cells (human CEM-derived cell line that is infectable with HIV) co-cultured with human CD8+ T cells

Protocol Overview

p24 standard and dilutions of your samples are prepared. Samples and standard are incubated with "p24 acceptor beads" for 1h at room temperature. After this incubation "Streptavidin donor beads" are added to the wells and incubated for another 30min at room temperature. After the second incubation the plate is read on an Alpha Elisa plate reader (EnSpire Multilabel Alpha Reader)

Tips

Accurate pipets and consistent pipets are essential.

Results Summary

Standard curve consistently comes out perfect. The assay detects even very small levels of p24 in the supernatant.
