I used the Qiagen Plasmid Maxi Kit to prep DNA from different experiments and so far I have been satisfied with my results. The kit works very well and the protocol is very easy and straight forward.This is a very good kit to use if you want to obtain high quality yield of DNA.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Preparation of plasmid DNA from competent e.coli cells.

Starting Material

pSIH-HI MLK7 shRNA (ligated oligos to knockdown MLK7). Started with bacterial pellet obtained from 250ml culture, grown overnight.

Protocol Overview

Protocol involves simple steps to describe how to grow the culture, lyse, isolate DNA, elute the DNA, precipitate DNA, wash and air dry the pellet

Tips

Follow the protocol as described. However, I always redissolve the DNA in dH2O.

Results Summary

Obtained high yield of DNA in all my experiments.
