Product Name:

Human CXCL8/IL-8 DuoSet ELISA

Catalog Number:

DY208-05

Stimulating human cells with bacteria is a common experiment in the lab, even as a simple positive control. The readout is often CXCL8/IL-8. Hence, it is pivotal that labs have a technique to measure it accurately and easily. This kit fits the bill.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

ELISA

Starting Material

Media supernatants harvested after co-culturing cells and bacteria

Protocol Overview

Capture antibody is placed on a plate overnight. Next day, non-specific binding is blocked, and the sample is added. A detection antibody follows. Finally, streptavidin-HRP catalyzes the conversion of color (TMB) which is stopped with a strong acid.

Tips

I recommend using R&D's ancillary reagent kit

Results Summary

Results are solid. Stimulated cells produce more CXCL8/IL-8 than controls. A standard curve is used to work out the concentrations in the samples based on their OD.
