Info: Supplier Page

We have used the multicast gels in the Protean electrophoresis system. The protean electrophoresis system is simple and easy to set up. The gels are slighly expensive, but if you want to save lot of time just making gels and waiting for them to be cast for hours, this is really a time saver.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate-PolyAcylamide Gel Electrophoresis

Starting Material

Tris, SDS, TEMED, APS and H2O

Protocol Overview

1. Setup the apparatus (depends on how many gel you want) 2. Pour the water to check for any leaks (generally it does not leak that easily) 3. Pour resolving gel and leave it for an hour 4. Pour stacking gel and leave it for an hour 5. You are ready to go!

Tips

1. After pouring resoving gel pour Isopropyl alcohol 500ul in each well immediately. 2. Make note on order and number of spacer/acrylic block required so that next time will be easy to setup easily

Results Summary

This is a great apparatus; every lab should have one. We found this one is better than even commercial pre-gel. We keep it for a week in running buffer at 4 C.
