We have tested 5 other 5-Ht2a antibodies and this is the only one that shows specific signal using immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry. The specificity was tested three-ways: KO tissue, pre-absorbtion, and region-specific expression.

Specific band corresponding to glycosylated form of 5-HT2a was detected at ~75kDa. Band was not present in the KO tissue, pre-absorbed sample, or in a tissue with known minimum 5-HT2a expression.

Antibody specific for 5-HT2a, strong signal in rat brain tissue
Signal is harder to obtain in mouse brain tissue.
The only specific antibody that we have come across.
