Company:

Qiagen

Product Name:

QiaQuick PCR Purification Kit

Catalog Number:

28104

Our lab performs a number of PCR reactions, and we often need to isolate the resulting amplified DNA from these reactions. The best way to do so without losing yield is to use a PCR Purification Kit, and Qiagen makes the best one. I've used it a number of times without any issue, along with many other people in lab.

A sequence of quick steps with columns that takes less than 30 minutes to complete. You can use a centrifuge or a vacuum aspirator setup, and it requires very little thought.

Results Summary

I consistently get a great deal of DNA from this particular kit. It's great for concentrating the DNA products from a bunch of PCR reactions at once, especially if you're going to gel-extract the band of your choice and want it to be extremely concentrated.

The Bottom Line

Though expensive, there's no substitute for Qiagen quality. Our lab has used this kit for years, and we plan to continue to do so for much longer. I highly recommend this kit for purifying DNA from PCR reactions.
