This product contains ultracompetent cells, which are good at transforming larger plasmids along with beta-mercaptomethanal (to be used with transformation) and pUC18 positive control plasmid. This kit provides high quality competent cells along with the appropriate positive control plasmid.
Cloning Transformation
None
Pre-incubate 100 ul ultracompetent cells on ice with BME for 10 min. Add plasmid and incubate for 30 min. on ice. Heat shock for 30 sec. Incubate on ice for 2 min. Add 900 ul media (SOC, LB, etc...) and incubate at 37 C for 60 min. Plate cells on agar plates.
Use appropriate tubes because of BME (company has recommendations)
This kit has been used to transform multiple different plasmids successfully and the positive control vector always has worked. Overall, a good transformation kit.
