I have been using this Accuri™ C6 Flow Cytometer from BD for more than 1 year, its performance is excellent. It is easy to use, easy to maintain, the result is highly reproducible and the customer service is great too.

Protocol Overview

Standard protocol of flow cytometry is followed. Briefly, cells are detached by trypsin or EDTA, about 1 million cells is washed by PBS and incubated with primary antibody for 20 min on ice, wash and incubated with secondary antibody if needed on ice for 20 min at dark, then wash again and read with the C6 Flow Cytometer.

Tips

Some surface protein has better result if detached by EDTA.

Results Summary

This C6 Flow Cytometer can be used for FL1,2,3,4, which is very convenient when you need double or triple colors. The operation is easy, the data is saved automatically, data analysis is simple and can be done with the software, pictures from C6 Flow Cytometer to powerpoint is just a dragging.

The Bottom Line

I love this C6 Flow Cytometer made by BD due to a lot of reasons. After our old Flow Cytometer broke down, we did lots of research in purchasing a new one. We are happy to have this one, it is very easy to work with, very easy to maintain, and the customer support from BD is great. However, it is not designed for cell sorting.
